On May 7th 2025, representatives of Nanjing University along with D-Robotics and Volcano Engine collectively attended the inauguration ceremony of the "Embodied AI collaborative innovation laboratory", which also serves as a symposium for the collaboration. Pan Bai, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School, as well as Zhang Zhijian, Vice Director of the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Electronic Information Education, participated the ceremony.

Pan welcomed the D-Robotics guests, reviewing the deepening collaboration between NJU and D-Robotics in accordance with the developments of AI technologies and greeted the long-term support in curriculum and education offered by the enterprise in a grateful light. Pan stressed that NJU is well aware of the importance of collaboration and views the deepening tripartite collaboration as a vital way to foster interdisciplinary talents in this era of AI. After outlining the industrial mapping, status and collaboration of the enterprise, Hu Chunxu voiced in support of in-depth collaboration to raise talents bearing both academic and industrial horizon. Representatives then formally unveiled the laboratory.

The tripartite collaboration embodies the RDKX5 Developer Kit and OriginBot Intelligent Robot Pro Kit as its hardware basis and is connected to the Volcano Engine AI Gateway along with the AI application development platform Coze to establish a unified technical groundwork from the hardware to cloud services. Curriculums are collectively developed to enable students’ participation in technological practice and industrial innovation based upon their theoretical knowledge.
The parties seek more diversified collaboration in multiple fields aided by the lab, so as to improve the collaboration pattern, introduce fresh innovative labor force into the AI industry and seal a new chapter in the history of Industry-University-Research fusion in the era of embodied AI.
