NJU team wins first prize in ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge Finals

On the afternoon of May 14, the Nanjing University team secured the first prize in the Finals of the ASC25, achieving an excellent result of eighth place globally.

The ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge is the world's largest and most competitive university-level supercomputing competition. Along with the Student Cluster Competition (SCC) and the ISC Student Cluster Competition, it is recognized as one of the three major international student supercomputing challenges.

ASC25 Finals were held at Qinghai University from May 10 to 14, featuring intense competition among 25 global teams. The NJU team comprised undergraduates from the School of Physics, the School of Computer Science, and the Software Institute.

To achieve the optimal balance between energy efficiency and computing performance, the NJU team conducted in-depth research and experimentation.

Despite thorough preparations, the team encountered multiple unexpected challenges during the finals. But the members successfully resolved each issue by leveraging their interdisciplinary expertise.

Behind the success was the team's months of careful preparation and full cooperation. The team fully utilized their interdisciplinary strengths; the e-Science Center provided key support in terms of computing power provision and resource coordination; and instructor Yao Ge also provided professional advice.
