On May 19th, the 22nd Academic Lecture of Xianlin Forum was held. Jack Wisdom, Professor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS)United States, gave an academic lecture titled "Origin of Saturn's Tilt and Young Rings". Professor Zheng Hairong, Vice President of Nanjing University, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), attended the forum.

Zheng extended a warm welcome to Professor Jack Wisdom. He pointed out that the Xianlin Forum aims to focus on the frontiers of science and technology by inviting distinguished scientists who have made outstanding technological contributions to society to conduct academic exchanges at NJU.

Profssor Jack Wisdom pioneered research on chaotic phenomena in the Solar System, resolved the long-standing puzzle of the origin of the Kirkwood gaps in the asteroid belt, and developed numerical methods widely applied in planetary dynamics studies. His studies not only revealed a new mechanism for the evolution of the axial tilt of planetary rotation, but also opened new avenues for understanding the formation history of celestial bodies in the Solar System.
