NJU Young Talent Development Promotion Association establishes

On the afternoon of May 12, 2025, the inaugural meeting of Nanjing University Young Talent Development Promotion Association was held at the International Conference Center on Xianlin Campus. Zheng Hairong, Vice President of Nanjing University and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Zheng Hairong extended congratulations on the establishment of the Association. He emphasized that young faculty members are the backbone of the NJU's development and encouraged them to set lofty ideals and pursue ambitious goals to guide their direction forward. At the same time, he urged young scholars to remain grounded, maintain focus, and delve deeply into the fields of academics and teaching, striving for excellence with perseverance and determination. He stressed the importance of "openness and sharing," encouraging young scholars to engage with peers with an open mindset, collaborate, share resources, and achieve mutual progress. Drawing from his own experiences, he offered heartfelt advice and profound insights to the young talents.

At the meeting, Miao Feng, Director of NJU Human Resource Office, introduced the background, preparation process, and future plans of the Association. Tang Shaoqiu, Chair of NJU Labor Union, presented appointment letters to Miao Feng, the first president of the association, and Lü Yong, the secretary-general. All attending representatives carefully reviewed the draft charter and approved it through a show of hands, laying a solid institutional foundation for the standardized operation of the association. The second half of the meeting featured group discussions, during which participating young faculty members actively contributed their ideas and suggestions for the development of the Association.

The Nanjing University Young Talent Development Promotion Association was established under the joint efforts of the Human Resources Office and the Labor Union to foster interaction and collaboration among young scholars, deepen cooperation, and accelerate their growth and development. Looking ahead, the Association will adhere to its mission of uniting, supporting, and serving young faculty, encouraging them to stand at the forefront of technological innovation, promote the spirit of science, uphold the tradition of serving the nation through research, broaden their academic horizons, and facilitate interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration. It aims to contribute actively to the NJU’s talent development and the realization of the vision of building the "First Nanjing University."
