NJU holds 2025 Faculty & Staff Dragon Boat Race at Yangshan Lake

On the morning of May 25, Nanjing University's 2025 Faculty & Staff Dragon Boat Race took place at Yangshan Lake Youth Olympic Water Sports Center. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the event.

Tan Tieniu extended sincere greetings to all participants and organizers. He stated that dragon boat race, as a traditional sport, not only preserves and promotes Chinese traditional culture, adding a bright touch to the university's 123rd anniversary celebration, but also deeply embodies NJU's spirit of unity and striving for excellence. He hoped that as educators in the new era, we should focus on academic pursuits while also strengthening our physical health. Only through the united efforts of all faculty and students can we propel NJU's development to a new height. We look forward to each team competing with style and skill, fully showcasing the spirited demeanor of NJU faculty and staff.

Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council awarded the first-place prize to the team from the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering.

After intense competition, the team from the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering claimed victory, while the teams from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the Capital Operations Company took second and third place, respectively. After the race, many participating teachers expressed that the dragon boat race not only strengthened their physical health but also enhanced interdisciplinary communication, and this spirit of unity and collaboration will inspire them to achieve more in teaching and research.
