On May 24, Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited IOPTEE.

Tan Tieniu listened to the brief report on the institute's research directions, technical plans, team development, and preliminary research outcomes. He noted that in recent years, with the support from local government and Nanjing University, IOPTEE has made remarkable achievements. On behalf of the university, he expressed heartfelt gratitude and respect to all staff members for their hard work.
Tan Tieniu stressed the strategic importance of IOPTEE and pointed out that as a crucial part of the national strategic scientific and technological force, NJU must play a key role in fundamental research and major technological breakthroughs. Recently, the "Nanjing University 789 Science and Technology Research Plan" was officially launched, highlighting the construction of major scientific infrastructure for atomic-level manufacturing as a vital means to integrate fundamental research, technological innovation, and result transformation. This plan demonstrates NJU's commitment to promoting technological self-reliance and strength. It will support Jiangsu in building a globally influential industrial technology innovation center and an internationally competitive advanced manufacturing base, and serve the nation by solidifying the foundation of the real economy and maintaining manufacturing advantages. He hoped that the institute would continue to focus on national needs and play a leading role.

Tan Tieniu stated that NJU would mobilize all its resources to support the construction and development of IOPTEE, helping the institute to secure support from multiple sources and providing more convenient services for its operations. He hoped the institute would strengthen its internal development and management, aiming to become a benchmark for organized scientific research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and talent development at NJU, thereby contributing more effectively to national development with NJU's strategic scientific and technological strength.
