On May 20th, a flag-raising ceremony was held across four campuses to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of the founding of Nanjing University.  Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS attended the ceremony on Xianlin campus.

The event revisited the important spirit of President Xi Jinping's reply to young scholars returning from abroad, and implemented the spirit of his letter to the volunteers of "College Volunteers to the West Program" serving at Xieyite Primary School. It called on graduates to shine and contribute their youthful energy to the places where the country and people need them most, aiding in the construction of Chinese-style modernization.
