On May 7, Qin Sizhao, President of Hong Kong Lingnan University and Fellow of Hong Kong Academy of Engineering, led a delegation to visit the Suzhou campus of Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with the delegation.

Tan Tieniu welcomed the Lingnan University delegation. He introduced the basic situation of Nanjing University, covering its history, discipline development, research innovation, team building, talent cultivation, campus construction, and open education. He shared recent explorations and practices in fields like AI-driven discipline development and AI general education. Tan emphasized that Nanjing University and Lingnan University share the same original intentions and mission. Looking to the future, he hopes both universities can continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in cutting-edge technology innovation, high-end talent cultivation, and faculty-student exchanges, contributing further to national major needs and regional development.

Qin Sizhao introduced Lingnan University's history and current situation of discipline development, and talent cultivation. He pointed out that both institutions have consistently focused on cultivating talent for the nation and advancing higher education. In recent years, Lingnan University has strengthened its cooperation with the mainland, actively promoting Chinese culture globally, achieving significant results. He hopes that the two universities could further enhance exchanges and deepen cooperation in more fields and jointly support Hong Kong's contribution to the national development.
