On May 23, the 2025 Deans' Forum of Nanjing University Institute of Area Studies and Young Scholars Symposium was held at NJU School of International Studies. Organized jointly by Institute of Area Studies and the School of International Studies and under the guidance of NJU Offices of Humanities and Social Sciences, the conference brought together representatives, leading experts, and approximately 20 young scholars from various universities and research institutes.

Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He stated that NJU will continue to advance the development of area studies and promote the construction of the independent knowledge system.

Professor Wang Yizhou, Dean of NJU Institute of Area Studies, pointed out that disciplinary development and knowledge system construction of area studies must respond to the demands of the times and emphasize quality and innovativeness.

Representatives from various universities contributed to the roundtable discussion. Young scholars shared research findings, exploring new topics and approaches in area studies.
